Yay! We got to Silver!

The Green Team are proud to announce that Otonga School is now a Silver Level Enviroschool. We have shown evidence that we have embedded practises that cover areas such as Environmental Learning in the classroom, Practical Sustainability Actions around the school, Students feeling empowered, Working with other community groups, Including Maori Cultural beliefs and Being aware of the needs of different groups of people. We were consistently strong across all areas.
Thank you to those parents who responded to our survey, this was also helpful evidence, and the results showed that our Environment is important to us as a school community. The results of the survey and also lots of videos of our work is on our Green Team page, just off the front page of our school website.
The school will receive a special sign to display our new status, at one of our final assemblies of the year.
While we always have room for improvement, and we have many more ideas to come, I do hope that you enjoy our fantastic grounds and the many projects that have enhanced our school environment and beyond.
Thank you to the parents, teachers, Board of Trustees and school leadership that have been part of our successful journey.

I will add some photos of our day, soon.
